COMPANY HISTORY

Century Elevator, Inc. (CEI) was founded in 1989, as an alternative to the original equipment manufacturers. At that time, the portfolios of building owners and management companies increased to include various makes of vertical transportation (elevator, escalator, wheelchair lifts, commercial lifts and dumbwaiters). Our founders recognized the need for competent, professional vertical transportation service providers capable of servicing various makes of vertical transportation equipment in the Washington DC, Northern Virginia and Maryland area.

In 1992, Century Elevator, Inc. became a women-owned business enterprise and this change brought a new focus on customer service. Our expertise and technical support for the increasing diversification of vertical transportation equipment was expanded. Since that time we have established a reputation as an outstanding independent elevator contractor, respected for both our quality of work and competitive pricing.

Today, the CEI team includes talented operations and support members individually selected based on their expertise as it relates to system evaluation, modernization history, repair capability, project management, vertical transportation knowledge, and dedication to customer satisfaction. Our service includes back-up technicians who are available 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. We offer a 2-hour response time for non-emergency call backs and 1-hour response time for emergency callbacks such as entrapments or single elevator buildings.
